The Holyoke Twins were located in a shopping center on Route 5 across from another strip mall. One had to drive down a steep embankment. The shopping center could not be seen from the main road. Operated by Jerry Lewis Cinema when it opened on August 10, 1973 with Topol in “Fiddler on the Roof” & Gene Hackman in “The Poseiden Adventure”. Each auditorium contained 234-seats.

I recall a discount department store located there also. The theatres didn’t survive more than a few years, closing around 1980-1981. It became a furniture store. The complex eventually served several functions including a factory.

A similar twin existed in Hadley.

Built early to mid 1970s I believe. The cinemas didn’t last very long, were for some time was part of the Jerry Lewis chain. They closed around 1980-1981 and were demolished shortly thereafter. The Hadley twin, “Campus Cinemas” was later expanded to a triplex, closed in 1976 and demolished 1983.
