2021 view of what the site of the old Empire looks like today. It occupied the right or eastern two thirds of this gap. To its left, the rest of the gap was the location of a small office building that housed one wing of the Britling Cafeteria. Comparing the surviving building on the right with other photos posted here confirms the location. The adjoining building on the left in those pictures is the one with the cafeteria which was also demolished.
