This is nice for the community of Sparta to have a theater again. Very nicely redone by the new owner. With so many theaters closing across the United States it’s good to see this one is open again. Make sure if you’re a citizen of Sparta or in any of the towns nearby to come and patronize this theater

A few locations with recliners were downgraded to classic. They even have classic locations with bars.
Since when do Classic AMCs have recliners, If they would have recliners, it would be under the AMC Amazing Brand
What is a major delay is that also New Vision Theaters for some locations owed back taxes so AMC may have to wait for a tax sale to end before getting the building back basically amc is getting a shell to put new equipment in and a bunch of the smaller theaters may open as Classic with recliner seats.

As of right now the theatre is CLOSED, AMC Theatres has not put this on their website as of now. The accusation from New Vison Theatres to take over is not finalize.
They are on the hook for the lease, so they must feel that it will cost them less to run them vs. close them. I always felt like New Vision was just a temporary thing until AMC could get them back. New Vision with 15 locations across half the nation couldn’t be a viable operation.
Well i guess they can afford it now that they got their money. Why would they want a 380 seat triplex??

Carmike is now part of AMC, so AMC will probably divest this theater to another operator as this theater is not too far away from Rockaway.
Correction so AMC is taking over carmike cinemas what if they decide to modernized the whole entire Carmike Cinemas multiplex ?
Now owned by Carmike Cinemas since 2014, which will merge with AMC at the end of this year.
Digiplex Destinations acquired the Sparta Theatre in February 2013.

someone should change it to open and leave the twin as closed. Newton theater will soon be open again this spring and will once again duke it out against sparta for top movie theater in sussex county!!!

as of right now, it’s open. The parent company of this theater is now Americanplace, the same company that owns the 6 plex in Flemington, the only movie theater in Hunterdon County, N.J. This theater is located in a building where a Rita’s and a Panera Bread are located.
