The Rustic Drive-In was located on Route 150 in Wynantskill, southeast of Troy, NY. It opened on August 6, 1950 with Edmund O'Brien in “Fighter Squadron” & “Angels in the Sky”. It showed first-run movies. It was closed in 1964. The screen was destroyed during a violent windstorm around 1970 and was never rebuilt. The land was bought by the Wynantskill Veterinary Clinic, which remains to this day. The projection booth/snack bar serves as the clinic. The building looks much as it did then, with the low profile retained.
I do remember that the view was great as the screen sat well up on a hill bordering Route 150. I believe that there may have been two sets of restrooms, one near the screen and the other in the snack bar building.

I found an article in the Albany Knickerbocker News dated July 20th, 1964 that stated that the Rustic Drive In screen was destroyed by a storm the day before.
