The State Theatre was opened on November 22, 1926 with Marceline Day in “College Days” on the screen and 5 acts of vaudeville on the stage. It was equipped with a Wurlitzer organ which was opened by organist Eddie Borgens. It was closed on September 1, 1954 with Tex Ritter in “The Cowboy” and Adeline Tetahaimuai in “Tanga Tika”. The following day the newly built Finkelstein & Ruben operated Empire Theatre opened (It has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
