It is obvious that before the Rialto Theatre became a cinema it had formerly been an opera house. Colonial Revival styling complimented a lovely façade.
Cast plasterwork and fringed drapery dressed the graceful arched proscenium span, but the remainder of the auditorium contained sparse decoration.
Around 1941 the Rialto Theatre was updated with an uninspired facelift and a new marquee that actually tarnished the original classic design.

Claremore, Oklahoma, is an interesting and picturesque place.
This is Will Rogers birth place, hometown, and where he is entombed.
Claremore is the setting for two Broadway plays that were also made into Hollywood films; “OKLAHOMA!”, and “Dark at the Top of the Stairs”.
Oklahoma Military Academy is located here.
Was this theatre later renamed Cadet?
