The Markay Theatre was opened prior to 1931. It was operated by Chakeres Theaters Inc. by 1950 and they were still the operators in the early-1970’s. In August 2015 it reopened as a live performance venue with occasional movies.

Based on the Google Earth view, East Main is just a collection of strip malls on the edge of town. The address that actually shows the theater is 269-271 Main Street.
The Markay Theatre reopened in August of 2015 as a live performance venue. Current seating is 280.
