As noted in the comments, the San Carlos Theater later operated under the name Palace. This newspaper clipping is the earliest mention of the name Palace >>which I’ve found.<< It appears on page 1 of The Key West Citizen, Key West, Florida, Saturday, October 1, 1932. It advertises the movie “Okay America!” Universal Pictures, released September 8 1932, with Lew Ayres and Maureen O'Sullivan.
