Opened by Tom Moyer Luxury Cinemas on June 10, 1977, this four screen cinema ran first run movies in the Gresham area with only the single screen Mt Hood Theater and the Rose Moyer on the edge of town to compete with. It later became a Moyer Theatre followed by Act III property, and finally, a Regal.

By the mid-1990’s, it’s sound systems, among other things, were in desperate need of upgrade, and Regal resorted to showing second run movies there and later made it a discount house. Finally, when Regal demolished the Rose Moyer and replaced it with the Division 13 and added the Stark Street 10 shortly thereafter, the Gresham Cinemas days were numbered.

It closed on September 23, 1999. Although it would have made a nice theater pub or could have been revamped with the right amount of investment, it was demolished in 2004 to make way for a Lazy Boy furniture store. Interestingly, the north and west exterior walls were saved by the builder and incorporated into the new store.
