The Picture Show Drive-In hung on until the mid-1980’s and then permanently closed.
The only evidence that survived is the sign which a liquor store now uses.

I found a drive-in located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Hwy 75 and Graham Road, and is south of town.
I was unable to locate any drive-ins near Huntsville on Hwy 190.
Here is a 1960 aerial photo of the drive-in, courtesy of Earth Explorer and USGS:

Approx. address for this drive-in was 6021 Texas 75.
From Huntsville a photo of the Picture Show Drive-In’s sign and marquee.
Ok, so there isn’t an aerial that shows anything located at the above 975 address. If you do a Google Street View, however, the marquee in question IS in fact located in front of that liquor store. So either the drive in was very short lived and they removed all trace of it, or the marquee was relocated from the 6021 Texas 75 address.
The drive-in that was located on HWY 75 near Graham Road was the Pines Drive-In. So, I do not believe there is any connection to “The Picture Show”.
Nor do I see any evidence that a drive-in existed at the 975 Highway 190 E location. It is unusual to remove all traces of a drive-in, but that’s not to say it hasn’t happened.
You got me.
This address above is correct: 975 Highway 190 E., Huntsville, TX 77340. If you you look on Historical Aerials on the year 1983 you see an oddly configured twin drive-in on the property. It does not show in the previous years of 1958 or 1960. Must have been a newer drive-in? It was gone in the 1995 picture.
