Gem Cinema

The Gem Picture Palace opened in early 1912 and closed in 1935 when the ‘modern super’ Argosy Cinema further along the street was opened.

It was converted into a store and became the home of Alexander Sloan furniture store for many years. In recent years it has been in use as Abacus Sports shop.
