One of two indoor theaters in Metropolis, Illinois. Located in the extreme southern tip of Illlinois across the Ohio river from Kentucky and home of Superman.
My father wanted to go there to watch western movies; that seemed to be the most popular at that theater. The other theater, the Massac Theater, showed more up-to-date films.

305 Ferry St is the first red brick 2 story on the map
The Royal has not been demolished, but the theater is surely dismantled. It looks like the building has been used for offices. In the current Google street view there’s a “For Sale by Owner” sign on the front.
