An original photograph of auditorium taken September 1928. Showing the deep crimson velvet curtains closed in front of the screen, decorated with appliquéd floral designs. As this was still the period of silent films had an orchestra pit and viewed in front centre can be seen the piano. Either side of the proscenium are twin marble pillars and a central arch featuring 16th century Venetian robed ladies painted in Trompe-l'oeil, this effect is repeated above the oak panelled dado either side with marble colonnades, the view on the left is of a Tuscan landscape, whilst the right a Venetian lagoon and were illuminated from the base of each. All were painted by George Legg, head scenic artist for Bryan’s Adamanta Co. Ltd ., Birmingham.
