Original view of auditorium 1928 from stage showing centre projection port holes at rear of circle, looking to the right side is a VIP enclosed box. Interestingly the back row of the circle and stalls had twin seats, which must have been popular with courting couples particularly as Portsmouth was a large Naval Port. The front area either side of the circle walls were oval panels again painted with Venetian ladies to match those either side of the proscenium arches. The ceiling had painted clouds on a blue background which ere lit by projectors giving the effect of moving clouds. Circular gold ventilation grilles were applied with bunches of grapes.
