The Palm Theatre opened on September 23, 1923 with “The Prisoner of Zenda”. It was operated by the Bernheimer organization for many years.
It was redecorated and re-fitted with new seating and carpets in the summer of 1946 when it was acquired by the Potomac Amusement Co. Ltd. It was renamed the New Palm Theatre.
In 1950 it was renamed Guild Theatre and became an art house. This closed in 1952 and the building was converted into a cleaners, now offices.
