This independent theater showed movies several weeks after their release at rock-bottom ($5) prices. Seats are old airline seats with tables, full pub menu including beer and wine. The theater also does functions, where they’ll play your home movie, presentation, etc. Currently up for sale, but still running as always.
It was closed by the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020 and never reopened.

Any idea when this cinema pub opened? I know that it’s very near the old Amesbury Theatre on Main St. which has been converted to other uses.
Sound like a cool place.
Hello Ron and Tl Stage 2 has been open now for 23 years it used to be The Amesbury Playhouse Theatre owned by Bill Brookes . Sorry my answer is so late 2011 Shannon Turbity
Sturbity- Thanks for info; I did not realize it had been around so long, and that it was a former theater (I assume a live theater??)
Yes Ron it was a live theater not sure for how long but the building itself has a lot of history built in 1890 by masons it was a Masonic hall has some beautiful built in peices throughout the building . I’m sure theres quite a bit I don’t know about it . Hope to see you again at the Stage.
Closed due to the pandemic in 2020 and has not reopened.
