The “current Orpheum” is nothing more than a small building hosting mining artifacts and displays in the parking lot of a narrow-gauge tourist railway. It is tiny and has windows in it and was NEVER a theatre. Somebody at one time must have figured it would be nostalgic to attach a small “Orpheum Theatre” sign on the building, for lack of a better idea.
Hi all, I am new to the site and looking for help. I am a researcher on a book dealing with cinema in British Columbia. I would love to include reminiscences about specific theatres, photos, or any information about how film and theatres in general affected your life and/or community. This would include rented films, documentaries from libraries, as well as local theatres or film study groups. Any information you would like to share would be most welcome.

Thanks for sharing your love of movies!
The information tell us that the theater we see in the picture is a re-creation of the original Orpheum. Subsequently the status should be closed/demolished. I wouldn’t list the function as museum since the original theater was never used for that purpose. Thanks for clearing that up.
