The Venus Theater was operating from the late-1940’s. It was in a large brick building with faded red "Venus" lettering attached diagonally above the marquee. A large red "V" formed the point of the marquee which sheltered a recessed entrance.
The Venus Theater was operated by the Southern Amusement Company of Lake Charles, LA. It was closed in 1970 and was later torn down to make way for a freeway through the town.
