The Roxy Cinema was built in 1931. A medium sized (approx 800 seat) Art Deco style cinema which closed in 1968. The Roxy Cinema has (in May 2008) an application for demolition pinned to the frontage. A mixed use building will be built on the site that contains offices & shops, a community centre, apartments and garages. It is still standing in 2019.
After closing as a cinema it was converted into a bar known as the Roxy Hall.
