Located slightly out of the town centre on the site of the Blackpool Rugby Club opposite the tram depot. The Odeon 10-screen multiplex replaced the original 1939-built Odeon in the town centre (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures as Funny Girls). It opened on the 7th December 1998 with try-out screenings, officially opening on 16th December 1998 with actress’s Jane Horrocks & Brenda Blethyn attending a screening of “Little Voice”. Seating capacities in the screens range from 420, down to 137.
On 5th May 2023 it was announced that the Odeon would close on 5th June 2023.
