Initially called Barban’s Theatre, it became the Coronet Theatre and finally in 1938 the Grant Theatre. The theatre originally faced on Grant Avenue in the Millvale section of Pittsburgh, it was remodeled in 1938 and a new entrance was made on North Avenue in the years when known as the Grant Theatre. It was closed in Summer of 1956.
By the early-1980’s the building housed a kitchen discount store.

Appears to have gone out of business in the Summer of 1956 when operators Joseph D. and Mary Mazzei struggled to pay their debt to a candy provider. Mazzei had additionally managed the Art Cinema of Pittsburgh from 1935-1952.
