The Raco Drive-In was part of the Covington’s Ruffin Theatre chain through much of its history. I beleve it closed sometime in the 70’s or 80’s.
Maybe Mike Rogers has some info on this drive-in.
Well,TLsloews ,ihave it parking 340 cars like Ken had and it was owned by W.F.Ruffin.I added a bit.
Mike I sent Robin some photos a couple weeks ago,she has not posted them, maybe she will mail them back to me I know how to post them now.I wish I would have kept them if she does not have to time or want to post.
I think she will do them for you.
Approx. address for this drive-in was 1007 Highway 51 N.
A good address is 1015 US-51, Covington, TN 38019.
Boxoffice, Sept. 20, 1952: “Covington, Tenn. - Raco Enterprises, Inc., opened its Raco Drive-In on Highway 51 north.”
The last Boxoffice note I could find was that Bill Ruffin of Ruffin Amusement Co. had closed the Raco for the season in late September 1977.
