Quartz from Tiles Porcelain in Cineworld.
This company claims to have supplied the black and red polished quartz “sparkle” floor tiles used in the refurbished lobbies. They are currently selling them at the price of £29.99 per sq. metre.
(Note: The quality of these quartz “sparkle” tile products seems to vary and I’ve never seen any on display that look quite like those I’ve seen in Cineworlds, and that price is rock bottom.)
Are all the screens Scope ratio after the refurbishment ?
Refurbishment complete – Screen 1 is Superscreen, Screen 3 -4DX, Screen 12 – Screen X, Studio Screen s now numbered 13-16 (instead of A-D) + Starbucks in foyer + quick buy screen for snacks
Massive refurbishment/rebuilding by Cineworld taking place. The foyer is gutted and being totally reconstructed at the moment. 4 or 5 screens at any one time are out of action for over a month for building work.
As of October 2017, it has 16 screens comprising of the 12 original ones plus 4 Studios.
The Empire website claims that this will be a cineworld from 16th June 2017.
full foyer refurbishment under way, completed by the summer.
The Odeon complex opened in Nov 2002…
I’ve been here and to be honest, the ’re-branding' was pretty poor. All EMPIRE majorly did was replace the sign at the front and some cosmetic changes. The majority of the ODEON style text is still there. Heck EMPIRE also just stickered the EMPIRE logo over the poster cases and the refreshment area menus.
A night view of the Odeon, soon after opening:
