Out North Theater

Opened as a bookstore and cafe in 1987. From May 30, 1990 the basement was opened as the 35-seat Cyrano’s Cinema featuring independent movies. In 1992 the building at 401 D Street became home to Cyrano’s Playhouse, a live theater. In 2017 they moved out of the building to a new location at 3800 Debarr Road which opened as Cyrano’s Off-Center Playhouse. The former Cyrano’s Cinema was sold to a new buyer by 2022. It has reopened as the Out North Theater.

Only 35 seats,pretty small theatre.

Well, those 35 moviegoers were watching a movie shot in Georgia,“GLORY” with Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman. rated R.Four bucks to see it in June 7 1990. Downtown, Beer and wine served.
