The Orca Theatre was opened in August 1954. On September 16, 1954 it was renamed North Star Theatre. It was destroyed in a fire on May 10, 1969.

So I presume the theatre survived beyond the earthquake. Now Cordova’s claim to fame is 24 feet of snow with another 18 inches expected.
