Having said that, a reasonably close address is 103 Co Rd 438, Eastland, TX. That places it right next to the property which never had an entrance road.

A 1958 aerial shows a fully intact screen. The screen seems to have remained intact at least through 1995, but at some point afterward had the screen itself removed so now it is just a skeleton.

There is no evidence of anything else being built on the property. So, it was never a drive-in.

Google Street View of May 2024 shows the skeleton still standing.

The picture of the screen tower is not the Olden drive in. This is a tower that is right off of the Interstate that was never finished. Some people were calling the Eastland drive in, being that it was close to the town. The owner of the Olden drive in was the same person who started building this screen tower. It is located at the Interstate 20 Access road and FM 438. Maybe should have its own page?

Rick Cohen, owner of the Transit Drive-In in Lockport NY, wrote a fine essay about this “Drive-In Without A Name”. According to him, this Olden drive-in was under construction when the owner’s daughter died in an accident. It was never opened, operated, or even named.

According to Google Street View, the skeleton was still there as of May 2013.

Could this have been the same as the Dixie Drive-In, to the west of Olden on FM 3383? Olden seems like too small of a town to have had two drive-ins.
