The Golden Harvest Theatre was situated in Yaumati on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. It opened to business on 22nd January, 1977 with a Mandarin film. On 1st January, 1990, it was renamed as the Newport Theatre and under the management of a new company.
Its 1,286-seat auditorium was on the first floor of the theatre building, with lobby and a seperate entrance for the front stalls on the ground floor. Three huge billboards were on the facade of the theatre building. It showed Chinese language and English films until its closure on 1st June, 2000. A commercial building was built on the site of the theatre.
