At the Camden County Museum is a poster for the Macks Creek Theater. This was probably part of a ‘circuit’ of a travelling showman, as movies were only shown on Thursdays.
I have talked to people who have memories of movies being shown in this very small town at a rented warehouse, inside in cold weather, and outside when it was warm. There is no year on the poster, but the movies being advertised on 4-Thursdays were “Sweetheart of USA” (1944), “Jack London” (1943), “Ruthless” (1948), and “West to Glory” (1947), so it was likely from the very late 1940’s or early 1950’s.
