The list of Electric Theatres and Nickelodeons listed in the March 21, 1908 edition of ‘The Billboard", has the Wonderland Museum, 27 Washington Avenue. Dan J. Labar was the manager, the seating capacity was 150 and there were between 10 to 30 shows a day.
This same address is listed for the Wonderland Theater in the 1910s. It is mentioned in the 2004 book “Union Against Unions: The Minneapolis Citizens Alliance and Its Fights Against Organized Labor, 1903 – 1947,” by William Millikan. The Wonderland Theater was this site of picketing by members of the Motion Picture Machine Operators, Local 219, from late Feb. 1917 and follwed by strikes into the 1920s, by then citywide. I recently learned that a relative owned the Wonderland Theater in ST. PAUL, MINN, and am uncertain if it was actually this Wonderland in Minneapolis. His name was Henry Ling, and his wife Jeanette (Jenny). Any info much appreciated!
