Gale’s Electric Picture Palace was opened towards the end of 1909 in a conversion of a former factory by architect Charles Living Jr. The cinema was located upstairs on the first floor. It was operated by Arthur J. Gale. It was issued with a Cinematograph Licence on 4th January 1910.

It was closed during World War I, in 1915. In 2009, a men’s clothing shop named Penessi Shoes & Clothing operated from this address. By 2015 it was a shop named Riwaz.
