The image is of the Melody Theatre previously the Gowerville.

The Gowerville Theatre opened on 7th May 1926. The theatre was updated in May 1930 for “talkies” but closed later that year. It was re-opened in 1938. It was closed in 1949 and following a refurbishment it re-opened in 1951 as the Melody Theatre. The Melody Theatre was closed in 1957 and was demolished in the 1960’s.
