Planning permission to gut the building for 9 HMO flats, bin storage, car and cycle parking was granted on 22 July by Bristol City Council.

The former Wetherspoons area now is used for another commercial business. It is understood that the auditorium is still untouched.

The Wetherspoons is closing The shell of the cinema area has been used for storage and seats still exist in the balcony. The distinctive ceiling moulding survives,
