Drew Theatre

The Drew Theatre was located in the heart of the business district of Monticello. It was opened August 9, 1938 and the address given in 1950 was 300 W. Gaines Street. It was operated by Malco and closed when the Malco Monticello 6 opened. The building is vacant.

The “New Theatre Openings” column of the September 9, 1938, issue of The Film Daily said that the Drew Theatre in Monticello had opened on August 9. The seating capacity was given as 900, the cost of the project was $50,000, and the architect was H. Ray Burks.
