This is the second Drive-In for the city of Roosevelt. The first one is the Basin Drive-In which will have its CinemaTreasures page soon.

A closer address is 250 US-40, Roosevelt, UT.

It’s right next to the highway and from Google Street View, it appears that the red rock bluffs are only on the south side of the property. Still, it’s quite picturesque if you are in the drive-in looking at the screen.

Does the sound echo at this drive-in?

Boxoffice, Feb. 16, 1976: “Leland Stevenson has sold the Roosevelt Theatre and the Echo Drive-In, Roosevelt, Utah, to Mr. and Mrs. John Chasel.”

A 2010 article in The Salt Lake Tribune put the Echo’s opening at 1958, but the folks who run the Basin in Mount Pleasant say the Echo was already open when they bought and moved the Basin out of Roosevelt in 1958.

The IMPAs are no help here. The Echo never appeared in any edition.

This is about as picturedsque as a drive-in gets… It is surrounded by wonderful red rock bluffs!
