Streit’s Haus Filmtheater opened in 1957 and is located in the Streit’s Hotel building, which dates from 1837. The Moderne style cinema had seating for 512 on a stadium plan, with 271 in the front orchestra level, and 241 in the raised section at the rear.
It was last operated by the Cinestar chain and the seating capacity had been reduced to 463. It played English language films, first run movies in their original language versions (with German sub-titles). To provide choice, several different films were programmed each day. It had closed by 2013.
