This was a great place, under the same management as the Embassy, Esher further along the Portsmouth Road. Remember sitting through Summer Holiday two and a half times in one go. I used to be given the old hanging cards advertising the week’s attractions when I was taken for a haircut every Saturday, and I’m pretty sure it closed earlier than you suggest. I think the last film shown was The Hill starring Sean Connery and Harry Andrews, which was released in 1965.

I remember going to this cinema as a child and seeing Mary Poppins, in fact as we were leaving my sister informed me that they would be showing it again after we had left and I cried my eyes out as I wanted to be able to watch it one more time!
