SethG is correct - the phone directory and the local newspaper has the Luxor next door to the Kentucky Building at 121 N. Maple and that building was definitely demolished - looking at the aerials - in the 1970s.

If it was in the Kentucky Building, then the address would be 113 or 115. It was almost certainly 115, as the storefront at 113 is very old. If it was really at what is now (at least) 121, then it has been demolished, and was not in the Kentucky Building.

The Luxor closed at the end of its 20-year leasing agreement on February 28, 1960 with “The Alligator People” and “Return of the Fly.”

The New Theatre opened its doors on April 19, 1940 with a one-day showing of Basil Rathbone in “Rio” along with a few short subjects. Walt Disney’s smash “Pinocchio” was then shown the following day for a four-day run. It was renamed the Luxor Theatre on April 28, 1940.

The Luxor Theatre closed in 1960.

Universal Sign Company (two story brick building) is 115 N. Maple and the Golden China Restaurant is 127 N. Maple. Everything in between those two buildings looks pretty modern…Luxor demolished?

According to Google Maps street photo looks as if a new bank now occupies this property, but may just be a modern facade covering old buildings.
