This is Uzbekistan’s largest cinema/concert hall. It is equipped with 8 channel sound and possesses the capability of seating 6,000 people when operating in it’s cinema mode.
It has one of the most luxurious and well maintained interiors decorated with ornate plasterwork in a style that I can only describe as ‘Uzbek’.
The name comes from a dedication to the friendship of the people who came to Tashkent to help rebuild the city after the 1966 earthquake which destroyed most of the old city.
