The Grand Theatre opened on 28th June 1921. By 1946 it was operated by Hoyts Theatres Ltd. Closed on 1st July 1959, it became the Coburg Ten-Pin Bowl, which operated into the 1970’s. The façade was clad in metal sheeting, and it became a theatre club and restaurant. By 2009 it was operating as a social club named the Vizzini Social Club and remains in that use in 2022.

I drove past this cinema not long ago and it is still there as a club of some sort, i looks as though the front has been covered over in the 1950’s or 60’s. So possibly the exterior is still in tact underneath. Good work digging that photo out lost memory – was great to see it.
