Opened in 1920 as the Grand Victory Theater. The Victory Theater was a small, neighborhood movie theater in northwest Detroit.

In 1951 when I was thirteen, I went alone there to see "The Thing from Another World." The movie scared me silly. I remember walking home and scanning the sky for alien spacecraft.
