Located in the west London inner-city district of Hammersmith at 225 Hammersmith Road (editions of Kine Yearbook list it at 255 Hammersmith Road). The Electric Theatre de Luxe was operated by Electric Theatres (1908) Ltd. and operated from around 1910 until at least 1914. By the end of World War I in 1918, it was under new ownership by F. Smalley and had been re-named Scala Cinema.
By 1928 it had been taken over by F.K. Hinge & H. Goldblatt and re-named Bio-Café Cinema, where patrons were charged for tea, but the movies were free admission. This only lasted a short while as by 1929 it had been re-named Star Cinema operated by P. Joseph. It was presenting continuous pictures and variety, having a 10ft deep stage and three dressing rooms. By 1931 it had been taken over by Tavistock Cinemas and was renamed Cosy Cinema having been equipped with a Picturetone sound system. It was still opened in 1933, but the Cosy Cinema had closed by 1934.
It was converted into a New Imperial motorcycles shop and has since been demolished. By 2019 offices for L'Oreal occupy the approximate site of the cinema.
