The Abilene Reporter-News noted in March 1946 that ex-serviceman Truman Hornsby had purchased the Rio Theater and planned to remodel it and re-open the theater shortly thereafter.

I find this story interesting. Truman Hornsby was my uncle.
Roger, the information in the heading is sketchy, would you have any more and, perhaps, a photo to share.
Hello Rob, I am sorry I have taken so long to respond. My brother found this page and sent me the link. This is the first we time we have known about our uncle Truman purchasing the movie theater in Clyde Texas. We don’t have any photos but I did ask my mother and she said she remembered him buying the theater and remodeling it. She said he may have owned and operated it about 5 or 6 years and sold it. That is about all we know but I do have a photograph of my uncle in his military uniform when he was in the service.
