Due to the many harsh critical reviews and somewhat negative audience reaction to “Star!” director Robert Wise had the film pulled from theaters. A re-cut and re-edited version titled “Those Were the Happy Times” was released but unfortunately played pretty much to near empty theaters. The film played at the Florida Theater for a week and disappeared never even making the drive-in circuit. Ad from the Tampa Tribune dated December 19, 1969.
