The People’s Picture Pavilion was opened in 1912, and had its entrance through an existing building. This could have been a shop conversion, or maybe a small auditorium was built at the rear of the building.
In early 1913, it was re-named Broadway Cinema and underwent alterations in January 1914. It was closed in 1918, a casualty of the conditions during World War I.
