Cinema Blue

One of many sex cinemas operating in London’s Soho district. Opened as the Climax Cinema in 1977, it was located on the ground floor of the building and initially operated screening 16mm adult films.

Later re-named Cinema Blue, it was one of two Cinema Blue’s operating in the area in the late-1970’s/early-1980’s (the other was on Lisle Street, near the Prince Charles Cinema, Leicester Square which has its own page on Cinema Treasures).

Since at least 2003, the former Cinema Blue operated as a gay restaurant named Steph’s Restaurant, serving English cuisine. By 2009, it is known as the Prix Fixe Brasserie.
