Built before 1890, the Myddelton Hall was used for theatrical performances, concerts and dances. In 1910 and 1911, it was screening films as part of the music hall programme.
In later years after World War II, it was divided horizontally by a floor, with the ground floor in use as a shop-fitters & joiners, and the first floor upstairs as offices. The proscenium, surrounded by fluted columns could still be seen on both levels.
In 1999, the upper part of the building was converted into flats, while the ground floor is the Almeida Restaurant.
