The Hong Kong Space Museum is situated in Tsim Sha Tsui, on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong, and is by the waterfront of the Victoria Harbour. Its official opening date is 7th October 1980.
The Space Museum has an irregular-shaped lecture hall on the ground of the main building. According to the web site of the Space Museum, the 193-seat lecture hall is suitable for lectures, small scale performances and film shows. The lecture hall has thirty three seats with restricted sight line.
Film programmes organized by the former Urban Council and the currently Leisure and Cultural Services Department are often shown at the Lecture Hall. The hall is also one of the venues of the annual Hong Kong International Film Festival.
