Grand opening was April 1, 1950 just two months after construction began.
Above address is incorrect. Approx. address for this drive-in was 2106 Augusta Road.
Drive In Rd. was built AFTER the drive-in closed.

Yes,Andy.According to Bill Barkley the Box Office is still standing.
Google gives the Valley the address of 5 Drive-in Road, which is just in from the northwest corner of Augusta Road (SC 421) and SC 481. Poking around with Street View, it appears that there may still be a ticket booth off of SC 481.
No date, but these movies played here at the VALLEY, “WEST BOUND” and “THE THREE MURDERESSES” with Paul Anka. both in color.

I know the Augusta theatres had an ad stating all the Afternoon features were cancelled, but never mention if they were showing evening movies. The ad makes it look like they might have opened for evening shows just for people to get away from Dallas.
It’s doubtful. I think almost all theaters closed that weekend.
Saturday Nov.23 1963 a very sad day for our country, the Valley was running HOOTENANNY HOOT and FOLLOW THE BOYS.Show time at 7:00 pm. One wonders if they even ran a movie that night.
