The Compton was not the first to be fitted with an illuminated console, that honour went to the Capitol Cinema, Forest Hill, which was installed in September 1932, three months before Morden opened. Also there is no pub on the site any more, a Lidl supermarket occupies most of the site - Iceland is still there.
