The Summerlands Electric Theatre was opened prior to 1913. It was located in Summerland Gardens, where outdoor music programmes were given and Chinese lanterns glowed in the dark.
In 1913, it was re-named Muswell Hill Electric Theatre, and was operated by the Muswell Hill Electric Theatre Co. Ltd. By 1937, it had been re-named Summerland Cinema and was operated by Home Counties Theatres Ltd. and booked at the Athenaeum Picture Playhouse in Muswell Hill. It operated successfully until it was burnt down in 1938.
Today the site has been re-developed into a small housing estate, known as Summerlands Grange, and the car park for the estate, on the sloping ground was originally part of the Summerland Gardens.
